Randolph E. Gunter, Ph.D. – President

A nationally recognized author and course developer in the field of Educational Technology, Dr. Gunter has co–authored eleven educational textbooks currently being used by college and university students and faculty from across the United States and Canada. His extensively Web–enhanced textbooks include Teachers Discovering Computers (TDC) – Integrating Technology in the Classroom, Fifth Edition and Teachers Discovering and Integrating Microsoft Office. Over 250,000 pre–service and in–service teachers have taken classes using the TDC textbook since first published in 1999.

Dr. Gunter has taught graduate and undergraduate courses (traditional and online) in Educational Technology, Educational Research, and Instructional Design at the university level and has more than 35 years experience in education and training. He has developed online graduate courses taken by thousands of inservice teachers from across the United States. Dr. Gunter’s research agenda includes researching the math and science crisis and finding solutions to help ease the impact on America’s competitiveness in an increasingly flat world. Dr. Gunter is an active member of the AeA Florida Council Executive Committee and AeA Florida Education Consortium to improve math and science education. For his expertise and dedication to help find scalable solutions to the math and science crisis, Dr. Gunter was recently honored by having one of his quotes included on page 2 of AeA’s March 2007 We Are Still Loosing the Competitive Advantage report published at the request of senior members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate and which was adopted almost in its entirety by Congress and signed into law by President Bush in August 2007 as the 21st Century Competiveness Act.
