Graduate Credit – Walden University

Application and Documentation Requirements

Walden University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association. To qualify for 3 semester hours of graduate credit from Walden University, students must complete all course requirements with an overall grade of B or higher. Graduate credit fees are $399.

To apply for graduate credit through Walden University, complete the following steps:

Initial Notification and Application

  1. Inform your Graduate Credit Advisor of your decision to apply for graduate credit prior to completing your Week 1 Assignment.

  2. Inform your instructor of your decision to apply for graduate credit.

  3. You can pay your graduate credit fee using your credit card and PayPal. To use PayPal, click the “Pay Now” button below. You do not have to have a PayPal account to pay your graduate credit fee. To pay using a credit card, click the “Continue” link under the heading “Don't have a PayPal account?”



  4. Complete the Graduate Application and mail the completed application to 21st Century Learning Solutions, Inc. no later than the end of the first week to:

Digital Portfolio Documentation Requirements

You are required to submit a digital portfolio to Walden University as part of your graduate credit application/approval process. Your portfolio must contain the following items for evaluation, demonstrating your success in the Teachers Discovering Computers – Integrating Technology and Digital Media in the Classroom course. While you will not submit this digital portfolio until you have completed the course, it is important to begin creating your portfolio at the beginning of the course and add to it each week.

You must submit your digital portfolio on a CD or DVD. Title the CD/DVD with your first and last name. Please use the same naming configurations as outlined in the table below and the same file structure. All items must be included in order to apply for graduate credit.



Digital Portfolio Requirements

Weekly Reflection and Application Assignments Instructor Feedback Each week you interact directly with your instructor via e–mail. Save each e–mail message your instructor sends you that includes your weekly reflection and application assignment, your grade on the reflection and application assignment, along with your instructor's comments. Use the Save As command in your e–mail window to save each message as a text file. Use the appropriate Weekly Assignment # for the file name (i.e. Assignment1.txt). You may also copy and paste each e–mail message into the body of a Word document, one document for all 8 assignments. Order your assignment responses chronologically beginning with Assignment 1 through Assignment 8 and start each assignment on a new page. Save this document with a file name of Assignments.doc.
Final Project Final Project Include in this folder all of the files, images, graphics, and screencast videos used to create your Final Project, including any Word documents. You also will need to provide links to your nStruct/screencast account(s) or to your final project if you posted it to a different server.

Send your completed digital portfolio to your Graduate Credit Advisor via U.S. Postal Service and send an e–mail message that you have sent the CD/DVD. You must mail your CD/DVD within 7 days of the course completion. You will receive official transcripts from Walden University in approximately 8 weeks. Mail the CD/DVD to:
